Graham S. Green is an educator, author, and cultural advocate living amongst the tree-lined avenues of Toowoomba, Queensland. Having grown up in the Central West of New South Wales, lived in Canberra, and travelled extensively throughout Asia, he has developed a profound appreciation for the power of language to bridge divides and foster understanding across cultures.
With an international background teaching at secondary and tertiary levels across Australia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, Graham specialises in language and cultural integration programmes for diverse cohorts. Through his extensive career, he has witnessed firsthand the complexities facing refugees when their worlds are uprooted. Building on years of experience teaching adult refugees as they navigate resettlement, his work now extends to empowering refugee youth—most notably collaborating with Yazidi young people. By utilising diverse media and digital storytelling platforms, he helps them articulate their experiences, preserve their voices, and build confidence in unfamiliar systems.
Holding postgraduate TESOL qualifications from Charles Sturt University and a Master’s degree from the University of New South Wales, Graham explores the historical, social, and human dimensions of displacement throughout his published works. He regularly shares his reflections, research, and essays on culture and education via his blog at graham.green/my-library.
Living in the Garden City, Graham finds peace in the slow process of nurturing growth—a metaphor that frequently finds its way into his storytelling. Outside of writing and teaching, he is a connoisseur of world cinema and maintains an extensive music collection. A true homebody at heart, he enjoys spending quiet weekends tending to the house and garden, cultivating a space where creativity can thrive.
