Michael Peterson<\/strong> is a leading researcher, educator, and consultant in intercultural relations and bicultural family dynamics. He lives in Canberra, Australia, with his family, where his work focuses on bridging the gap between macro-level cultural frameworks and the lived, everyday realities of modern relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael has enjoyed a distinguished, multi-decade career studying and teaching at the Australian National University (ANU)<\/strong>, where his academic journey began in the late 1990s as a student of Asian Studies. Over the last twenty-five years, he has dedicated himself to researching the intricate tapestries of community, ritual, language, and social structures across Australia, Asia, and beyond. His deep, empathetic observation of how cultures meet in intimate domestic spaces has made him a pioneering voice in the field of cross-cultural communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to his academic contributions, Michael has worked extensively advising and consulting for the Australian Government<\/strong> on cultural affairs, multicultural policy, and community integration. This unique dual perspective\u2014combining rigorous academic taxonomy with high-level policy advisory\u2014has allowed him to help shape national-level frameworks while remaining deeply connected to the human stories that give those frameworks life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he is not writing, teaching, or advising, Michael is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He loves mountain bike riding on the rugged, scenic trails surrounding Canberra. Above all, he cherishes spending time at home with his wife, Leanne, and their three young children\u2014Ben, Dan, and Liz\u2014who serve as his daily inspiration for building spaces of love, understanding, and shared heritage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
